Pendleton Winters is the name I have given for my annual season of REST: Revive Embrace Strengthen TEA'CH....December 25-February 28/29, which follows my annual season to RUNN: Refresh Unleash Nourish Nature....March 1-December 24.

Pendleton-Winters is my last name. I chose this last name for myself in early 2025 for a myriad of reasons which I look forward to sharing in time through my Great BACK Forrest B'Logg. Pendleton-Winters is linked because they are inseparable. You will notice that Pendleton carries the word Pen and Winters holds the word Write! I have always loved to write and hope and plan to do much more in the days ahead---those days namely being Christmas Day through the end of February every year. I have named this season Pendleton Winters and it is my season of REST (Revive Embrace Strengthen TEA'CH) which includes REST from the RUNNING and is also a time of preparation for the REST of the year: Clovers2Christmas which RUNNS March 1st- Christmas Eve every year. That is the RUNN (Refresh Unleash Nourish Nature) season where MAGI Massage Marathons and One Muir Days happen!

I remember I was giving a quiet Christmassage at Wildwood. My Table Guest was lying peacefully beneath my healing hands, draped with pure white linen sheets, covered with a pure wool plaid Pendleton blanket. As I prayed and worked, the Pendleton tag caught my attention. Pendleton Woolen Mills Trademark 1863. Hmmm, I pondered. I was  born in 1973, so Pendleton began 110 years before I arrived! Psalm 110 is a precious promise to me, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool." Pendleton. What does the name mean? I reached with one hand for my phone which was providing the music for the Christmassage and typed "Pendleton name meaning" into the search bar......"overhanging settlement"......the very first thing that popped into my mind was Matthew 5. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden! Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, so that it gives light to all who are in the house.... Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.

Winters means "time of waters" because of the rain and snow that falls in the winter season. This brings to mind my dearest of Scriptures, Isaiah 55, where I have camped out for many years....."As the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My WORD that goes out from my mouth. It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. This is Winters.

Pendleton-Winters also symbolizes being wrapped and covered in the beauty and warmth of a Pendleton blanket, kept and protected in the cold and hidden season of winter.

My birthday is the 43rd day of Winter....some of my favorite words from Isaiah 43.....Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the LORD your God. the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life...."
